Interview with a school counsellor

It is very important for our students to have a possibility to talk about their problems, to ask somebody for help or just talk about some situations in our life. In our schol there is always an opportunity to speak with our school priest Father Peter Šabo.

  1. Father, could you tell us something about yourself?

My name is Peter Šabo. I was born in Topoľčianky and I am 30 years old. I have been studying priesthood in Rome for 9 years and now I have been school priest at GCM since 2008.

  1. What are your duties as a school priest at GCM?

I am here for all, students and teachers. That is my mission J I say the Holy Masses, adorations, speak with students and also help to organise the trips, sport activities and spiritual retreats. People can come for confession anytime. I teach religion at the primary school, too.

  1. Where do students have a possibility to talk about their problems or to ask for advice?

Everybody can come in the „discussion room“ anytime or people can find me in the school chapel. I am happy students take advantage of this opportunity pretty much.

  1. How does the school inform students about bad effects of smoking and drinking alcohol?

Subject Christian Ethics, which informs also about dangers of smoking and alcohol, is a part of education during whole studies. Through the year there are lectures with doctors who inform and advise the students how to stop or where they can find help.
